THE MORAL CHARTER BUTRFLY

Butrfly is a digital agency for connecting French families and young au pairs who want to come to France.

Our goal is to provide a unique experience for Au pairs and families in a climate of trust.

Our values are benevolence, positive education, openness to others and sharing.

Our creed : A simpler daily life, a richer life, a more open world

Because these values are at the heart of our business and drive us every day, we want to make sure that all families and au pairs that join BUTRFLY share our commitment.

Adherence to our moral charter is therefore an integral part of the conclusion of our contracts.

Our moral charter is based on the following points:

1. A double exchange of culture

The au pair stay offers young people of any nationality the opportunity to live for a time abroad. The purpose of the au pair stay is cultural exchange, which takes place in both directions: the au pair brings a new culture, a foreign language and thus an opening to the rest of the world.

2. The concept of family

Considered a full-fledged family member, the au pair is housed in his host family and provides support on a daily basis.

The host family receives the au pair for a time and regards him as his eldest daughter or his eldest son.

3. Au pair: support for the family, not an employee

An au pair supports the foster family in child care.

He also provides support in light domestic tasks. Host families can not expect the au pair to have pedagogical training and therefore to offer professional childcare.

4. Respect for au pair rights

Even if the au pair gets sick, he is entitled to all his pocket money.

Seeing friends, discovering another region: the au pair also needs time for that. He must therefore have one free day per week, including at least one Sunday per month. Holidays in the host country are also public holidays for the au pair.

5. Respect for families

The host family is a real 2nd family that opens their home and their heart for a few months. It is therefore important to respect their habits and pace of life as their privacy

Transparency is key in the relationship of trust with the family at the Au Pair: the Au Pair agrees not to give false information in his profile (experience, no smoking, driving license ....)

Au pairs must respect family schedules and must be able to support their work schedules.

As part of their mission, Au Pairs agree not to broadcast photos related to children, family, environment (housing ....) on social networks. If he / she wishes to diffuse this type of photos, a request of authorization of right to the image must be made to the parents.

6. Working time

As regards working time, some flexibility is required from both parties. It may happen that the au pair has to keep the children a little longer than expected; he will receive in exchange an entire weekend of free.

7. An organized and caring executive in the drafting of the contract

The families and au pair are committed to establish a common contract clearly defining all the tasks that will be assigned to the au pair but also the important aspects of the stay (leave period / agreement on French courses ...).

The contract signed by both parties expresses their agreement on all these points.

All of these points need to be clarified even before the au pair arrives. If a family or a young person does not know what to do, we advise them to put themselves in the other's shoes. What would you like for your own child, for example, if he were to become an au pair? Host families who are accustomed to hosting au pairs also know that it is only when the au pair is satisfied that the children of the host family are too.
