The au pair program is dedicated to a cultural exchange. By welcoming a French au pair, you will discover the French language but also our way of life. Our au pairs will share our typical passion for food and conviviality ! In exchange, the French au pair will discover a new culture and lifestyle living with his or her host family.
Skills of our au pairs
All candidates registered on Au Pair Butrfly meet precise criteria to be validated.
Au pairs are between 18 and 30 years old. They have at least the baccalaureate or an equivalent (High School diploma, A Levels, etc.), speak a minimum of English to facilitate communication with the host family. They have at least one experience in childcare (baby-sitting, summer camp, nursery internship, language teaching, sports coaching) but they are not education professionals. For the registration, the childcare experience with a family member is accepted but if it's the only experience of the au pair, he or she will not certify.
Certified profiles
In addition to being validated on precise criteria, candidates can be certified. This means that they have also been validated in a video conference interview with our team according to 2 fundamental criteria: experience with children where we check they have relevant experience with kids out of the family circle and their motivation to follow the au pair program. We check their skills and test them in a variety of situations.
Each certified au pair profile contains a BUTRFLY rating with our interview debriefing to help you to know more about the au pair. But beyond all the practical criteria, it is the personality of the au pair and your family that will make the right match.
Availabilities
Our au pairs are available for short or long stay (between 1 and 12 months). If you live in Europe, they can join your family between 2 and 6 weeks.

Personal and uncomplicated - definitely give it a try. I made a phone call last week and finding someone to talk to as nice as Fanny is rare. I was pretty insecure at first because my French isn't the best but then it was very easy to just chat in English. You'll definitely get the information you need here.
